The Only People

Here's to the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, they're not fond
of rules, you can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify
them, about the only thing you can't do is ignore them, because they
change things, they push the human race forward, and while some may see
them as the 'crazy ones', we see genius, because the people who are
crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the only ones
who ever do, colleges being nothing but grooming schools for the
middle class non-identity which usually finds its perfect expression on
the outskirts of the campus in rows of well-to-do houses with lawns and
television sets is each living room with everybody looking at the same
thing and thinking the same thing at the same time while the crazies of
the world go prowling in the wilderness, the only people for me are the
mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved,
desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say
a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn, like fabulous yellow roman
candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you
see the blue center light pop and everybody goes awww..."
