Home Coming

My heart’s beating with anticipation

As I climb up the stairs

Millions of thoughts swim in my head

Of things that were said

And of memories we never had

The prodigal daughter knocks on your door

She is looking for some answers

There is a storm brewing in her head

She seeks an anchor

And she seeks solace in her creator

You open the door and stare into my soul

You see a familiar stranger

Strange floods of sentiment

Sweep through your being

Daddy’s little girl

Has become a woman

Daddy’s little girl

Has come back home

Words don’t come easy

When you have so much to say

But blood does not need an introduction

It just finds a way…..
